I got my life back thanks to VillageHealth.

"I am the caregiver for my wife who had a stroke and cannot talk very well. She also has diabetes. The VillageHealth program is like having an angel. They always help us with appointments and get things done quickly. They arranged outpatient physical therapy for my wife after her stroke. In only four weeks my wife is standing by herself. I tell all of the patients about VillageHealth at the dialysis clinic. I tell them if the VillageHealth program can’t take care of it, then no one can."

I feel better prepared for starting dialysis.

"My name is Louis. I found the Key to Better Health program to be helpful with my nurses and the CardioCom Scale. Gwen always responded immediately to me with good advice and communicates with my doctors about my health. We talked about my kidneys. I was surprised at what I learned. Gwen told me I needed to get a fistula. She explained it was important to do this ahead of time so it would be ready when I need it. Two months later I had the fistula placed. My GFR is 17% now and I feel better prepared for starting dialysis."

Over the phone line, Gwen explained what was happening to me…She called me every day for the first two weeks after I was discharged back home to make certain I was OK. The dietitian, Geri, has been helpful in educating me on how to adhere to my dietary restrictions, while still eating healthy foods. The Key to Better Health program is very reliable. I appreciate not having to go to the emergency room for treatment.

I am a 56-year-old man who lives in San Bernardino, CA and I am new to dialysis since December. Going to dialysis is difficult. I go to the dialysis center three times a week, four hours a day. I had a kidney infection several weeks ago and I could not get in to see a doctor for treatment. The VillageHealth program had a nurse practitioner come out to my home and treat me for my infection. I appreciate not having to go to the emergency room for treatment.

The Key to Better Health helps me feel better. My VillageHealth Nurse looks out for me. Elaina encourages me to keep taking care of myself. I am doing better medically because of the education and support of this program. I am more knowledgeable about my blood pressure and my kidneys. I look forward to seeing my nurse. The nurses are always on top of my condition.

I was blessed the day Key to Better Health first called me. The nurses are always on top of my condition. They tell me what I need to hear and not what I want to hear. I have the CardioCom Scale and I use it every day to stay healthy. The Key to Better Health always gives me important advice on my fluids, swelling, breathing and my diabetes. I have not been in the hospital nearly as much as I was before the Key to Better Health started helping me. My heart failure is under better control now. I do not know what would happen to me without the Key to Better Health program. It is a very helpful and important program.
