Meet Our Corporate Management Team

VillageHealth is comprised of a highly qualified staff of professionals who bring a wealth of experience and expertise to the success of the disease management program.

Executive Leadership Team:



Jess Parks

General Manager
Jess has over twenty years of experience in implementing successful change in the health care industry including co-founding three health care/technology businesses. He started with VillageHealth in May of 2007 as Chief Financial Officer and was promoted to the role of General Manager in April of 2008. His executive leadership and vision guides VillageHealth and the Senior Leadership team to ensure overall business results.

Before joining VillageHealth, Jess served as Chief Operating Officer for Aveta, Inc. managing a $2.5 billion health plan operation. Prior to Aveta, Jess held technology-related positions at Accenture, LLC where he was the lead Partner for Accenture’s Health Plan Rating and Underwriting Offering., and at Selectica, Inc., where he was Vice President and General Manager of the eInsurance software division. Jess also has extensive experience working with physician-driven organizations, as Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of VISICU Inc., a solutions provider for critical care medicine, and as Chief Financial Officer for Health First Physicians, a large primary care physician group.

Jess received his MBA from Wharton School of Business where he concentrated in healthcare management and was awarded the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation Prize. He earned a B.A. in Engineering and Applied Sciences from Harvard University.

Meredith Mathews, MD MPH

Chief Medical Officer, VillageHealth
Dr. Mathews is a nephrologist with extensive experience in health plan and medical group management including the development and implementation of programs in clinical quality, Disease Management, Utilization Management, Credentialing and Risk Management. He is committed to helping organizations improve the health of their patient populations. He is also skilled at creating and executing clinical programs which meet the business needs of client organizations.

Dr. Mathews is Chief Medical Officer for VillageHealth a company focused on coordinating comprehensive individualized care plans tailored for the specialized needs of patients with renal disease. Prior to joining VillageHealth, Dr. Mathews was Chief Medical Officer for LifeMasters Supported Self Care Inc, disease management company that helps individuals with chronic conditions take control of their health. Earlier in his career, Dr. Mathews was a principal at Dorsey Health Strategies LLC, and the Chief Medical Officer at both the Medica Health Plan in Minnesota and at Premaera Blue Cross of Washington and Alaska. He practiced nephrology in Seattle for 18 years and served as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Wasington.

Dr. Mathews is board certified in Nephrology and received his medical degree and master’s degree in Public Health from University of Washington.

Andrew Walsh

Vice President, Sales and Marketing
Andrew is responsible for the overall vision, development, execution and integrity of VillageHealth’s strategic marketing, growth, retention, public relations, and communications initiatives. He oversees and maintains the company’s business contracts and relationships while simultaneously exploring new opportunities and markets for the company.

Andrew previously served as Vice President, Sales Operations for SecureHorizons, UnitedHealth Group's Medicare line of business. In this capacity, Andrew was responsible for the sales infrastructure supporting captive and independent health insurance agents including the technology infrastructure, operational processes, and CMS / State DOI compliance and quality assurance. He also led the strategic development and expansion of the healthcare and insurance business for ICT Group, a multinational outsourcing organization. Under Andrew’s leadership, ICT enjoyed exponential growth with many of the nation's largest managed care organizations, supporting their member services and provider services functions, and providing a variety of key support services during the industry's launch of Medicare Part D. Andrew also served as a founding principal of Wellness Incentives, an early-stage healthcare consulting firm focused in the area of consumer-driven health plans.

Andrew holds an MBA from University of Notre Dame, Magna Cum Laude, and a BS in Economics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Scott Ireland

Vice President, HP Operations
Scott directs and oversees all health plan operations, including customer service functions, enrollment and eligibility, benefit verification, provider assignment, re-authorization processing, and HME activities and processes. He implements and maintains policies and procedures, ensures compliance with local and federal state regulatory and accreditation requirements. Scott also oversees other company functions, including provider services, performance improvement, technical solutions, finance, account management and sales to optimize operational performance, and customer and employee satisfaction. Scott contributes to the overall strategy of the company and reports on operations parameters at the senior management level.

Previously, Scott held various senior management roles for UnitedHealth Group as VP of Operations and VP of Business Architecture. He led the operations for physical health solutions company of UnitedHealth, including four sites performing clinical support programs, claims processing, and member and provider service. He also led the development of the company’s outcome-driven business architecture to support long term growth and performance.

He received a B.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from University of Wisconsin.

Leslie Rice

Vice President, Finance
Leslie is a finance and an accounting professional with 19 years of progressive responsibilities as a strategic thinker with the ability to switch from high level strategy to operational reality. She has a proven delivery record of strong, sustainable operating, financial and service gains through expertise in business process management, systems design and implementation, standardization, and workflow organization. Leslie has excellent leadership, management, listening, problem solving, and negotiation skills she uses to challenge, inspire, enable, and encourage people to do their best work with a great attitude.

Prior to this assignment, Leslie held a number of appointments with SAFECO Insurance including Vice President of Business Process Management and Vice President & Senior Finance Officer Commercial Lines where she designed a transformational strategy to lead Safeco into operational excellence, including mapping of the entire company, knowledge of best practices and knowledge thinking, selection and implementation of a continuous process improvement methodology, identifying and prioritizing cost reduction and transformational opportunities to align with the corporate strategy. She also partnered with the business to implement identified opportunities to achieve considerable expense reduction for over five years.

Leslie received her B.S. degree in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting and Finance from Colorado State University.

Wendy Wilson, MD

Vice President Clinical Operations
Dr. Wilson leads VillageHealth's distributed disease management operations, including oversight of our field and telephonic teams and the development and implementation of new care management services, processes, and tools.

Dr. Wilson has twenty plus years of healthcare experience as a practicing physician and consultant. As a consultant, she has worked in the healthcare provider, payer and life science sectors, concentrating on the development and improvement of care management programs and services; building integrated case management, disease management and wellness programs for many industry leading organizations, including CIGNA, Highmark, Wellpoint, Amerigroup, UPMC, Healthways, and Health Dialog.

Prior to entering consulting, Dr. Wilson worked in a variety of academic medical settings. During her practice at an academic medical center in the Midwest, she originated many of the institution's initial clinical pathways and programming in Orthopedics and Rehab (Joints and Trauma) as well as Stroke. The work included continuum program development and outcomes management automation in collaboration with her Chief Information Officer. Over her years in practice, her clinical and administrative responsibilities included a variety of Medical Directorships (in hospital, subacute and ambulatory practices) and chairperson of multiple quality, operations and outcomes councils at system, departmental and practice levels.

In addition to her M.D., she holds an M.S. in Biomedical Engineering, both from Case Western Reserve University.
